THINGS TO DO
Coimbra
The most important city to the south of the Duoro river, who once was the capital of Portugal, is full with history and heritage. With every step you take you can find a monument, a church and even a glorious botanic garden, telling the story of the city and the Portuguese history.
Dornes
A stunning old village predating to the foundation of Portugal. It is located on a small peninsula by the Zêzere river. Take a walk through the ancient streets to the Church of Nossa Senhora do Pranto, built in the 13th century or rent a canoe and paddle in the Zêzere river.
Tomar
Apart from the beautiful old city with its colorful streets and charming corners, Tomar is mostly famous for being the former seat of the order of the knights templar. The Convento de Cristo, build in the 12th century, is the greatest expression of the artistic culture of the city. Let the city draw you into an ancient time & space, getting lost between the medieval architecture.
Fragas de São Simão
A magnificent river with small waterfalls and enchanting pools. It is truly a hidden treasure. You can spend all day relaxing on the majestic rocks or take a slow hike from the magical village of Casal de São Simão, through the old cork forest ending in the river.
Praia Fluvial do Trizio
A beautiful beach on the Zêzere river with a stunning landscape. Deep blue sweet water, green pine trees and reddish beach create a colorful and summery atmosphere. Enjoy a relaxing day on the beach, a nice food & drinks at the Nautica Club restaurant and some water sports.
